It can be called the end of a long struggle. Virat Kohli, who has not scored a century for almost three years, scored an explosive century in the last match against Afghanistan in the recently concluded Asia Cup. Virat who got this first century in T20 International now owns the second highest century in international cricket jointly with Ricky Ponting with 71 centuries. Cricket god Sachin Tendulkar is on top of the century by scoring centuries.

Talking to a Pakistani TV channel, the 2009 T20 World Cup winning star advised Virat to retire with his head held high. He said, 'Virat had to struggle a lot before getting fame at the beginning of his career. He is a champion. But I believe there comes a time in everyone's career when they have to move on to retirement. Then the goal should be to leave with your head held high.'

Although he has a record of returning to cricket after five retirements in his cricket career, Afridi hopes that former India captain Kohli will retire at the right time to maintain his personality.

He said, 'It should not go to such a stage, when you are left out of the team. Rather, you should leave from the top. However, this is rarely the case. Very few players, especially Asians, can get this decision right. But I think, when Kohli retires, he will take it well. He will leave with the same personality that he started his career with.
